Known for being the wintering home to thousands of bald eagles, Brackendale is a small town located just north of Squamish, British Columbia along the Sea to Sky Coastal Highway. The best time to view eagles is during the peak season which occurs from mid-December to mid-January; however a significant amount can also be seen from mid-November to mid-February. Every January, the Brackendale Eagle Festival attracts numerous visitors who come to view the eagles and participate in many other activities going on in town. Brackendale is also known for being a hub for the local arts community. The Brackendale Art Gallery is a popular place for viewing a variety of art exhibitions. It is also used as a venue for concerts, theatre and other special events. Brackendale is situated in an enviable location in close proximity to many provincial parks. Visitors can enjoy many outdoor recreational activities such as hiking, rock climbing, nature viewing and camping.
