Welcome to Pemberton!

Pemberton is a village in southern British Columbia in the shadow of Mount Currie and is just a 30-minute drive north of Whistler. Before being settled by Europeans, the greater Pemberton Valley area was First Nations territory belonging to the Interior Salish tribe. The village is named after Joseph Despard Pemberton, who was a Surveyor General for the Hudson's Bay Company in the 1850s. The village of Pemberton was incorporated in 1956. Among other things Pemberton is now known for its important role in farming and its vital role in supplying food to the province's Sea to Sky corridor. Pemberton is most famous for producing seed potatoes among other produce and food products. For those who love outdoor pursuits, Pemberton and the surrounding area offer plenty of activities to be enjoyed such as golfing, kayaking, paragliding, horseback riding, snowmobiling, fishing, hiking and more. Pemberton is also surrounded by scenic provincial parks such as Garibaldi Provincial Park, Joffre Lake Provincial Park and Nairn Falls Provincial Park.
